May Newsletter 2021
Welcome to The Well’s newsletter.
Here we share news, stories and celebrate those who connect with us.
As lockdown eases, we are saying goodbye to more volunteers who have journeyed with us through the last 14 months.
This has recently included the 3 Wolverhampton Homes staff who have packed and delivered parcels daily for us. One of them shared their experience with us:
‘As I have said many times, all three of us feel privileged to have been able to assist with the wonderful work that you and all the staff and volunteers do, it has given us a sense of purpose and fulfilment during a strange and sometimes difficult year.
I personally feel that I have gained as much as I have given during my time at The Well, I am truly thankful for this and will remember the time fondly.’
In the midst of this awful pandemic, it has been a joy and privilege to connect with so many more amazing individuals. We thank God for each one of them!
One of our delivery drivers recently shared this story:
DOM'S STORY*
A lady received her first parcel of food and toiletries from The Well today. She was overjoyed. “Who can I thank?” she asked. I explained about The Well, and that there were some details included in her parcel. “I’ve never been hungry in my life, apart from over the past year.” She speaks for many people in our city, who have encountered hardship directly or indirectly as a result of the pandemic. Again, she said, “Who can I thank?” The driver said, “The best person to thank is God himself; everything The Well does comes from him.” “I will” she said, “I pray every day."

Since 2016 a group who have come to be known as The Well Walkers have completed a 'marathon walk' of 26.2 miles to raise money for The Well.
This year's walk is to take place on 19th June. Starting and finishing in Codsall, it will be a mixture of canals, fields and woodland. Their aim for 2021 is to raise a record amount of £2021.00. Can you help them reach their goal?
Since The Well began in 2006, over 83,000 individuals have received food & toiletry parcels. This includes a record 11,627 people during the last year of lockdown challenges - an increase of 1800 on the previous record. Your generosity will mean even more people can receive this vital support.
